Daniella Marchand is from Alberta, where she is currently engaged in her Juris Doctor at the University of Calgary. Daniella is a graduate of the University of Alberta where she achieved a degree in Gender Studies and Political Science, completed with distinction.


Daniella is passionate about creating avenues for empowerment, specifically uplifting girls and women. To this end, she volunteers as a pro bono student with an Emergency Protection Order Project and she is the current Chair for the Calgary Women Studying Law Association. Previously, Daniella engaged in international humanitarian work that focussed on school-building and access to education in rural communities. Most recently, she worked in Vietnam with the UNDP on biodiversity and climate change initiatives. Daniella also has a strong focus on community building, previously volunteering on LGBTQ* focussed projects as well as devoted her time working alongside the disability community. She is also an avid bluegrass enthusiast and commits much of her free time to learning rhythm guitar and bluegrass-style banjo.
